A big Thank you to everybody so far who have pledged. We need these solid pledges to get going. Having had feedback we agree that the Alliance should indeed focus on our own aims, however in order to strengthen our position and be seen as a force to be rekoned with, we need to actively target the NLA/RLA. Not out of spite but simply to consolidate. There is little point in expending resources elsewhere, which is why I urge every reader to immediately ditch membership of these two organisations. They have had their chance, their time is over.
Once we get the required pledges, we will then collect memberships.
Our First 2 campaign goals will be the altering of the mechanics of the eviction process and secondly we are going for SHELTER. This organisation has villified the PRS for too long. No more "Mr Nice Guy" like the existing organisations we are going head to head with Shelter and only one of us will emerge with credibility. I am putting SHELTER on notice. The vast majority of landlords are professional and not criminals. SHELTER would do well to acknowledge that.

This may also be more inclusive for non landlords eg tenants/Property owners

A great idea. Can l suggest we can have local lists of " serial moving tenants" who habitually move on 6 months at a time usually having only paìd 2 month's rent.
Is this "legal".

Regarding a name for the new organisation.
We need a name which has an overall image, similar to that of Shelter:
Punchy, Warm, Easy to pronounce, musical without having to spell it twice - no tongue twisters, and which conjures up a positive picture in one's mind.
Are there any property-owning advertising/designers out there ?
Not keen on the word union or alliance.
