Mortgage Express – Should I take the call?

Mortgage Express – Should I take the call?

I had a telephone call from Mortgage Express last night, but I was not able to take it as I was going out to an appointment.

They said they were calling back today around lunchtime. Have any other members had such a call out of the blue?

What information were they seeking from you? What should I watch out for? Should I take the call?

Thanks

Jack

I would let them write to you first so you can be in control of the conversation.

I would not trust a call out of the blue. They could be anybody phishing for information based on scraps of information they've picked up online or on the dark web. Take the call but do not divulge any information whatsoever. Ask them to write to you in the first instance.

Maximum caution. Why would a lender call you out of the blue? Nobody calls like that to do you a favour that won't result in profit or reward for the caller? If they won't write or email with a traceable address, it's a scam.

Yes- MEX are likely trying to find a way to get you off a very low interest rate (some were 0.25 + bebr) by selling you the idea of moving your loan away from their UKAR (UK Asset Resolution Limited) book. I know of a case where MEX had a PI outside a BTL and took possession (appointed a receiver) claiming the legitimate tenant was the landlord (so in breach) and sending all letters to the BTL address. The property was legitimately let and the landlord didint receive the letters and was not aware of the covert surveilance and so on.

Hi a lender never calls you without any notification.
So it sounds fishy

It does still exist. Rosinca is a separate company. Basically Rosinca took all the low risk mortgages from Mortgage Express and Birmingham Midshires leaving them with all the high risk stuff. My personal mortgage is still with Mortgage Express and is only 25% of the value of the property so I don't know why they consider that high risk, never missed any payments.

It transpired that it was a legitimate call but nevertheless I was treated as the arch criminal for not giving them the security details they demanded. I asked them to write to me but so far, after two months, they have not done so.
I NEVER give any information on an incoming call, nothing at all I will not even divulge my name.

I had a cold call from a company ringing from a Manchester number as Teamsearch at 6.50pm on 28.04.21. Mel introduced herself from a noisy background. She said she was ringing on behalf of Bradford and Bingley and wanted to canvas my views on the services of Bradford and Bingley (the lending arm of Mortgage Express). She said, from a background of noise, it would only take 10 minutes of my time. I laughed and said it would take much longer than that. I informed her that we were awaiting the FOS, ombudsman decision on two complaints, after rejecting the investigating officers initial opinion. I further implied we were looking at an alternative litigation route, which is true. I told her it would be inappropriate for me to discuss matters further, to which she replied that is ok. I asked her to feed back we are most upset with our treatment and write that next to my name.
Anyone else been approached by this so called boiler house company?
I have potential news to share but am restricted by so called NDAs. If anyone wants to private message me, I would be interested in developing a Property 118 defence against them. They are outrageous in my opinion, and the FOS, I suspect are in their pockets, in my opinion. Can't say more details or be more candid on this public forum. As a founder member of the property 118 action group, would welcome some comment from Mark Alexander in particular.
