No Furlough for landlords?

Anyone in this group belong to a landlord association? Question for NRLA why are they not more vocal in the lack of furlough support by the government for landlords. Landlords get no support whatsoever!

No support at a time we cannot evict and have to pay more tax it’s so unjust. Why aren’t they shouting about this it’s not the government that’s supporting renters its private landlords.

I can’t help but feel landlords are just too scared to speak out given the anti-landlord propaganda by this government.

Your silence is deafening. It’s time to speak out at your injustice.

Forget it. Who will we speak to and who cares about a few million landlords. As previously pointed out by another member government is only after the renter's vote. When it comes to the ballot box are landlords going to vote Labour, I doubt it .However if landlord's contributed say £1 million to the Tory party they might favour us.

I don’t know how many times it needs pointing out, but the NRLA are worse than useless. Don’t expect a thing from them but equally don’t expect that to ever change whilst you’re sending them membership fees.

They have been more than useless and if they deny this then at least give members continued updates on protesting and lobbying. ARLA were bad enough but NRLA as said above, all they want is your fees.

I find it hard to believe that landlords should be furloughed (and I am a landlord). Surely making sure tenants can pay and that the courts are open is the way to go, in my view the approach nrla has set out is the most realistic in the circumstances, esp as most tenants are paying,

My email to NRLA a week ago, no response.

Dear NRLA

Before I consider renewing my membership can you clearly indicate your strategy in dealing with HMG`s treatment of landlords?
I don`t see any so-called landlord representative organisations doing anything useful to counter the avalanche of anti-landlord actions.
I `d like to your mandate of proposals to directly go head-to-head with Robert Jenrick & HMG to save the PRS. The NRLA, et al, will cease to exist soon unless you earn your subs.

I think their days are numbered, as a member, if no one is there to even acknowledge your concerns then what does that tell you.

I resent it today with no expectation of any different outcome. Trade bodies set themselves up as the `authority` selling insurance & other unwanted products they make a commission on. Their supposed support & benefit to members is just hollow.

With all due respect I think the OP should look up the definition of "furlough" 🙂

Encouraging people to leave the NRLA is certainly not going to strengthen their position or resolve. I do not understand what you are trying to achieve by constantly trotting out comments suggesting that the association is useless.

it would be more constructive to try and encourage the 2.5 million landlords who do not belong to it to get on board.
