No Furlough for landlords?

No Furlough for landlords?

Anyone in this group belong to a landlord association? Question for NRLA why are they not more vocal in the lack of furlough support by the government for landlords. Landlords get no support whatsoever!

No support at a time we cannot evict and have to pay more tax it’s so unjust. Why aren’t they shouting about this it’s not the government that’s supporting renters its private landlords.

I can’t help but feel landlords are just too scared to speak out given the anti-landlord propaganda by this government.

Your silence is deafening. It’s time to speak out at your injustice.

John

I am not sure what has offended you but if it is the use of the word ignorance I simply used it to describe a lack of knowledge.
I am actually intrigued to know what you think nrla should be doing that is not already being done.

I guess none of the anti NRLA parties on here are prepared to start an alternative lobbying organisation then. Seems a shame that there's so much strength of feeling about the subject, yet no willingness to take the lead & do something. Well I guess the NRLA has the whip. At least until whingers become activists.

At the age of 74 and having been a landlord since 1993. I have had enough and at my age would not be prepared to take the lead on anything. I am quite happy to be and remain a whinger. Personally I am just making arrangements to get out of BTL as I consider this the best option for me.

They did. Twice. There wasn’t the backing.

Rightmove asking prices for 1 and 2 bed flats in my area of the prime South East seem to be falling even though the choice is meagre as are rents. Could be investors or home owners believe Boris will give more power to the Northern Powerhouse.

Many landlord's here I suspect are fully engaged with the additional nonsense being applied by this government to start an alternative organisation. NRLA "asking " the government for justice , well we can do that for the price of a postage stamp , but they are not listening. Subs for the NRLA £75 minimum x 84,000 membership amounts to £6,300,000 pa, so whos getting the benefit. Certainly more profit in this than being a LL.Is the NRLA supporting the government campaigns financially which might just make a difference to LLs, say £6m a year.

Hey Luke, I don't care who's in the big chair, NRLA or you or someone else. What I do care about is whinging without purpose. Threre is a lot of wasted energy put into whining in forums like this. In my mind, those that feel strongly need to put a size 9 where the gob seems to sit. Otherwise, we might as well leave the NRLA to keep asking nicely for stuff. I think it's probably needed, let's not forget gov funds their own lobbying agenda by giving shelter tons of money to ask the questions they want to answer. Maybe there's someone around that knows how to mount a defence rather than just wishing. I can't believe there isn't a natural leader out there in the midst of the PRS whining sector. Or is it just about having a moan, and I'm missing the point?

Seems to be a big issue for you. Why not put your name forward to take a lead on this.

I thoroughly agree Phil, whinging and whining is just negativity,
bound to do more harm than good. This site is great for helpful positive comments. Let's keep it that way.

William, I'm flattered & I'd be proud to, but I don't have a clue about lobbying, politics or anything around the concept. I'd really enjoy being the man of the PRS but fear I don't have the skills. There must be one of our kind that knows a thing or 2 about this world. However we go forward, moaning without a purpose won't get us anywhere. I guess this is my shout out to anyone with the right skills to take a step forward for us.
