Tenants may soon be able to sue for properties not meeting basic standards

I`m obliged by law to test alarms within my managed properties each & every time I undertake a viewing.
The tenant is only asked to test the alarms whilst in occupancy.
Why is the onus for saving lives a greater imperative on me than the occupant?
Make it the same as the seat-belt law..make it the users choice with sanctions.... Read More

About seven years ago my local authority said the following to me..`you must treat HB claimants as if they are in work`
In other words claimants are to be trained in money the expense of landlords.
What happened? addictions were fed, the dog was fed, the local off licence was fed..but the landlord lost out.

Vision for an independent organisation to represent UK landlords

Sadly & not unusually, ideology/politics & other negative human traits obscure rational & forward thinking on both sides of the PRS `fence`

Shelters agenda is slanted ideologically opposing seems to me.
Local councils often oppose for the same reasons with political views also having an influence.
Renters have a mind-set like car hirers..some respect other peoples property..many do not.
Landlords take advantage of weak systems controlling the public purse.
Arla, Nals et al..all are supposed to speak for landlords but have little real effect..they just pick up annual fees as a matter of `right`

I`m just describing UK life..... Read More
