Standalone Inventory Software – Any suggestions please?

Do you know of a standalone software package for inventories that let’s you insert time and date stamped photos into it?

At the moment I use Imfuna Let which is good but I am becoming concerned about the fact that the pictures are time and date stamped in US rather than UK time. That is OL until the TDS scheme administrator asks why I was doing inventories at 3am in the morning!

Does anyone know where I can get some decent standalone property inventory software that let’s you embed pictures rather than using the web based subscription services currently available?

Thanks

Have you found a way to change the time stamp to UK time Vanessa?

Thanks to all who have contributed so far. I have sampled a couple of other web based systems and found a standalone which uses Microsoft Access. But it is very clunky to use and I shall not be pursuing that one. Standalone systems are not easy to come by and I suppose web based is the way to go to share reports etc.

I have also tried one called TIM ( The Inventory Manager) Now it's early days but I
signed up for a 14 day trial yesterday. They called me today. Offered me a 20 minute training slot on the phone. Without doing that I knocked out a basic inventory for a three bed house in about an hour. And most importantly no transcribing ( which as Paul says earlier is old hat- and costly) instead it's all drop down menus and allows you to copy rooms across in their entirety minus photos which you cannot do with Imfuna. Plus it let's you do it all on an IPad, let the tenant view it on check in and let's them digitally sign it. You can then send it electronically to the tenant and the landlord saving £50 a month in printer ink and paper. That's if the dispute resolution boss at the deposit protection bodies let you do it that way rather than giving a hard copy out.

The cost is £5.95 a report rather than the £15 for the Imfuna Premium report. There
is a £100 front loading payment which covers you for 16 reports and then you pay on account each month.

Having used Imfuna for about 18 months, my first impressions are that TIM is a bit more user friendly- and time and date stamps in BST rather than Eastern Seaboard Time!

Hi Gary

I have tried TIM and Imfuma but have settled on iSurvey as the platform for the iPhone / iPad is very easy to use and imbeds all the photographic information with date and time stamps.

I like the way it indexes my reports and at £6.00 per report I find it much better value wise (that includes VAT by the way).

Happy to send you an example if that helps.

As with any system; once you get used to it reports them become much easier and less time consuming depending on the state of the property of course!

Hope that is of help!

Hi Sian. An example report would be great. Not sure of the " netiquette" of disclosing email addresses in open forum but you can contact me through my member profile and then my website and the "contact us form".

I did try to download a sample report from Isurvey but that facility was not available without going through the sign up process.

Can I ask what was the deciding factor in selecting Isurvey rather than TIM?

Regards

Gary

Hi Gary

Just sent you contact details through :).

I used the iPad / Apple App for TIM and just didnt find it user friendly and had to remember where I had been as it seemed to want to take me back to the start all the time.

I just find iSurvey more responsive and suits me better but certainly advocate trying out a few to get a best fit 🙂

Property118 business membership allows you to add all the contact details you want to your membership profile and the upgrade costs only £4.99 inc. VAT to activate. For forum regulars, especially those who engage with other readers and would like to encourage offline contact for business purposes I think you will agree that's a bit of a bargain, but then I would say that wouldn't I? LOL

Thanks to Sian for allowing me to view some of her examples. I am very impressed with them and shows me how far I have to go to get to this level of detail. It has now got me thinking about whether I outsource my inventory work as the time I was spending is disproportionate to the cost of a professional inventory (a conversation I had with Mark recently) As an aside this shows the benefits of Property 118 in sharing best practice and making us think differently.

Thank you Gary; that's very kind and am pleased to be of any help than I can 🙂

I think outsourcing is always worth considering but it's difficult to let go of the proverbial reigns so I always suggest that example reports are viewed; insurance documentation checked and a face to face meeting with the provider so that you are happy to let them represent you and your brand 🙂

I am also really pleased with the level of expert help and general "friendliness" I have experience with Property 118; great way to make quality connections and share experiences.
