Standalone Inventory Software – Any suggestions please?

Do you know of a standalone software package for inventories that let’s you insert time and date stamped photos into it?

At the moment I use Imfuna Let which is good but I am becoming concerned about the fact that the pictures are time and date stamped in US rather than UK time. That is OL until the TDS scheme administrator asks why I was doing inventories at 3am in the morning!

Does anyone know where I can get some decent standalone property inventory software that let’s you embed pictures rather than using the web based subscription services currently available?

Thanks

All these apps are all very well but has any of them been tested with the Deposit disputes service.
It could be useful if the deposit schemes gave an example as to what they considered was best evidential practice as far as inventories are concerned.
After all there would not be much difference to the inventory descriptions and then at least we would know the info would be sufficient should there be a dispute.
ME I'll be sticking with bits of paper and completing manually.
For a LA obviously NOT ideal!!..........for a very small LL FREE inventories off the net are perfect!!

Paul, the deposit schemes do give such information and one of their recommended practices is time and date stamped photos. Now you can do that with a digital camera but then you have to cross reference it with the written report. Much easier to embed them into a report that makes life easier for us all.

Hi Gary, brilliant to hear that you've found a solution that is best for you!

Hi Paul, I've made contact with the TDS to see if they would test my new app/solution (I've previously been told this would be possible), to make sure the solution aligns with their standards. I agree that its easy to make an app, but harder to build one that satisfy's requirements.

Hopefully I'll have some useful feedback in the near future.

Reply to the comment left by "Gary Nock" at "08/07/2013 - 13:45": We have noted in this thread that there is some out of date information about Imfuna Let; as of January 2013, we no longer charge extra for premium, fully branded and customisable reports. In addition we adopted a monthly subscription system where users can create their own package of inspections and dictation minutes that are auto-transcribed. Bulk purchase discounts are built into the system with inspection report prices ranging from £2.10 for bulk purchases to £4.99 for a single inspection. Use of dictation minutes that are auto-transcribed are also discounted based on level of use. The app is free and there are no setup charges.

More importantly however, he reports that his Imfuna reports are helping him to reach the point of adjudication less and less often! Hi Imfuna. To be honest I found the subscription part quite confusing. If you dont use it you lose it.Whats that all about please?

I'm old fashioned and this is not really rocket science so I already have my inventories set up on Excel... I just import the date time stamped photos and can then do condition reports, PAT testing notes etc. on one document, plus it flags up when gas safe certs and EPCs etc. are running out because of the auto formatting on the date cells. It takes me about 45 minutes to do an inventory from scratch - then thereafter about 20mins to update at checkout. And it only costs me for my time... no licence or usage fees.

Jan I have just started using it. And for £6.00 a report its a really good system. Having used Imfuna for a couple of years it is much more intuitive and user friendly to navigate around. And it takes photos in BST/GMT rather than Imfuna's Eastern Seaboard (USA) time!! In addition to having a hard copy of the inventory at check in it also allows you to make last minute adjustments to the inventory, upload it, get the tenants to digitally sign it, and email it to the landlord and tenant- all from the property with a tethered Ipad with 3G.Took one hour 45 mins for a large part furnished two bed flat from scratch and in talking with Sian from The Metcalf Partnership (see earlier posts) who kindly helped me with the first inventory, she says I should get that down even further. Highly recommended.
