General Election 8th June – Who on earth do landlords vote for?

We are asking all landlords to complete this Poll.

Oops! We could not locate your form.

We are also extremely interested in your views so please post comments.

For example, you may well despise what the Conservative Government has done and you may well mistrust them but will any other party be better?

If landlords vote for minor parties might this hand a win to Labour?

Do you think a coalition Government is likely, and if so between which parties?

Which party would you least prefer to be elected and why?

Could not voting hand this election to Labour?

Appologies if everyone has seen this but I think it’s useful the RLA has a direct link with a letter you can send straight to your MP

    Tory “wobble” = Panic

Take one ladies leopard skin shoe, put your foot in your it and take aim with a promise to confiscate all Tory and Labour voters parents houses for social care fees.

    Fire!

That’s one hell of a wobble for life!

    What a to-do.

Mark guided me to put this on another thread

    https://www.property118.com/conservative-manifesto-2017-prs/98805/comment-page-2/#comments

But I feel the choice between a healthcare cap (Labour) and a healthcare floor (Conservative) and the opportunity to select another group with their malformed (or no) policies could mean I will put an ‘X’ in all boxes provided..

When assessing for healthcare, non-incorporated landlords’ assets must include their BTL’s and there will basically be an unregulated (or badly regulated at best), postcode lottery abuse of power by councils as they beat you up to cover their fiscal potholes.

Get dementia and sign your portfolio over to the government.

    That is not fair.

This is i am afraid a repetition, I have already published that on the Manifesto thread, but somehow it got sidelined with comments about leaving this country…

I just wanted to alert everyone on this site to an editorial (written – I presume- by our friend Gidiot) which appeared in Evening Standard on 18 May 2017. it reads (verbatim):
“… The bureaucratic planning laws that protect the interest of existing homeowners over those seeking their first home will be retained, and THERE WILL BE NEW CONTROLS ON PRIVATE LANDLORDS. …”

Anyone is aware what it means? What controls? I did not seem to spot anything, but I worry what is behind that manifesto, and why – on the day of that manifesto being published – there is statement like that in the ES.

I will be grateful for any comments you may have, as it sounds dangerous. At least for me. Has the editor knows something we do not?

Yup, twas repetition. Seems a good reason not to vote Blue.

I have no opportunity to rant at Speaker Bercow as he can’t be bothered canvas.

So, who on earth do I vote for?

The rest are dysfunctional, gaga or prepubescent.

I am chuckling at this. It is almost worthy of Gary Dully having written it! (That’s intended as a compliment to you both btw.)

The ‘ New Cotrols on Landlords’ are, I believe the Housing and Planning Act 2016.
It introduced Civil Penalties of up to £30k on Landlords who have amongst other things Breached an Improvement Notice.
Banning Orders, rent Repayment Orders and a Rogue Landlord database.
BUT, I would Fear Not for the vast majority of landlords. Its quite hard to get on the Rogue landlord database ( 2 convictions within 12 months ) and, the opening paragraph of the DCLG Guidance for Local Authorities states,
” the PRS is an important part of our Housing market. The quality of privately rented housing has improved rapidly over the past decade with 82 % of private renters satisfied with their accommodation, and staying in their homes for an average of 4 years ( EHS )”

The very small proportion of Rogue landlords are doing the rest of us no favours and there is NO case for longer tenancies made out.

If they want to offer longer tenancys then they need to change eviction laws then landlords would be happy as we all want long term let’s yet again idiots legislating with little or no knowledge
