Hi Connie. I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth! If you’re willing, I know you have the energy for it!
I’ll get on with something else. I haven’t heard from the ‘investigations team’ at the Daily Mail (to which my email was passed by the journalist Andrew Pierce), so I will research other journalists to send it to.

I’ll see how far I get. I’ve just done Balham 😀

If you do want to do this, too, start York and work up – meet me half way! 😀

And don’t forget to hit – no marketing!

May I add my thanks to all who have contributed thus far, there has been a fantastic amount of input in such a short period, and in a very professional and positive manner. Now that others have done the initial hard work it lies with us who been following to “get the word” out. For my part I have written to a good majority of the Aberdeen Letting Agents (inc, Martin & Co) and local Solicitors who lease property, along with local SNP MP, Facebook and Landlord contacts. Let’s keep it up.

5166 signatures now. We are over half way to the point where the Government will need to provide a response. I think we can get to 10,000 signatures by Sunday with all the effort being put in. Our next target will be 100,000 signatures. The Government responses I have seen to other petitions don’t say very much but at least when we reach 10,000 we will have achieved our first milestone.

Welcome Jireh. You wouldn’t fancy taking on my share of the Martin and Co list would you? (pretty please – I’m experiencing a sudden slump!) Connie has explained above what to do, regarding cutting and pasting the email and working on the list from York upwards. Don’t worry if you can’t, I’ll do it tomorrow. Y to about M it must be!

Doh – just realised that they all have the same email formula. Going to email the whole lot in one go after I’ve written down all the place names first. Feel like such a doughnut. Managed to get to Ely before I realised.

    Dunce cone of shame 🙁

Hey Connie – I would have got to the bottom of the list before I realised. Well done for sorting it. Hopefully they’ll put it in their newsletter that they send out. But it’s raising awareness with these groups even if they don’t all help to publicise it. I think we’ll get little spurts now and then in terms of signatures, when a landlord organisation or other group suddenly send out their weekly or monthly bulletins etc.. The tricky thing will be keeping up momentum. As long as we get some little victories along the way, that will help.

The more I try to research all of this the more I think I am dreaming… what next ffs.

“HMRC given go-ahead to demand £5.5bn from taxpayers – before they have chance to appeal”

” Among the targets of the new power is anyone who has claimed tax relief against their income, such as buy-to-let landlords and investors in the creative industries, which offer generous tax breaks if you make a loss.

But HMRC’s legal victory today will “open the floodgates” for the Treasury to claim back billions of pounds in tax, according to experts. The Revenue put a figure of £5.5bn on the extra tax it expected to collect. ”
