Sometimes, some things have just got to be said, because what tenants think is helping them, is in fact doing the opposite (see screenshot below).

Unbelievable! This Corbyn and Labour anti-landlord people publicising tenants should get a break from paying the rent. All they are doing is making it harder for tenants as more landlords will say I’ve had enough, I’m selling, less houses left for remaining increasing tenants and remaining landlords will be able to pick and choose and charge whatever they like due to supply and demand.

This tenant had already been evicted twice by landlords selling. I REALLY helped him out buying his house so he could stop in it.

Reply to the comment left by The Forever Tenant at 18/03/2020 - 12:59Tenant isn't working & has I repeat lost ZERO income. He'd watched Corbynite Propaganda on the news & thought he'd have a bit of that.
If I was taking a hard stance, I'd have sold all my houses last 2 years.
My battle now is How can I keep this tenant in their home of 20+ years despite all this legislation & Council & Govt attacks.
I couldn't agree more about message looks harsh. But I repeat again, he has lost NO INCOME. So if we say Ooh yes course u can not pay to someone who hasn't lost any money, what about the next man & woman & dog & next man etc.?
But all my lot know, if they contact me Mon to Fri 8 to 5, I will give them 110% & bend over backwards to help them.
And then he tries this at 7am.
If this one who has lost NOTHING tries this on & asks, what next? We will all have no houses, tenants will have no homes.

Boris has very carefully worded confirmation in PMQs that measures to protect tenants will be brought forward.

However, he did also say that any measures should not just pass the problem on.

Mick, it looks like you took the opportunity to completely over react so you could post the screenshots here. If anything, I think you've come off looking worse than your tenant.

Possibly over-reacted. But then possibly not.
And I din't take an opportunity. I didn't ask for the text.

I will repeat for the 9th time. This tenant HAS LOST NO MONEY FROM HIS INCOME WHATSOEVER.
So why was he asking for a reduction cause he THOUGHT I was getting a mortgage holiday?
Cause he'd watched the news & got sucked in by Corbynite delusion.

And it certainly wasn't to post on here. Although I do like vent my frustration sometimes.

And yes to some that don't know me & don't know how much we fighting in Nottingham, it looks to u that I may look bad, but I've even had my own tenants saying He's trying to scam me & taking advantage.

I've just had another girl ring me, lost her job at hotel cause of coronavirus. U know what, she's gone on UC, yes the same benefit system that pays your rent. Her rent is sorted.
This previous tenant in question WAS ALREADY ON BENEFITS & HASN'T LOST ANY BENEFITS, so if he hasn't lost any income, why is he asking for rent reduction? I say again Corbynite delusion.

I've just rang me tenant & asked him next time to keep me to after 8am & if 'ote to say, to ring me as some things get misconstrued by text.
I did say I may have over-reacted, but it was 7am & I do know that he hasn't lost any benefits.
He said he was listening to radio & Corbyn saying tenants can have rent holiday & lenders giving mortgage holiday & he's now looked into it & din't realise Landlords haven't got a mortgage holiday. And he was just planning ahead.
I also said I've had two tenants this week, that have lost jobs & hours cause of coronavirus & they've now gone on UC to BE IN THE BETTER position that he is already in-Getting things paid for him. He said he should have probably looked into it more, as din't realise landlords were in a different position.

I don’t think Mick over reacted at all
Sometimes we need to call a spade a spade and let people take their medicine
This guy was trying it on with no loss of income
I have 27 tenants
I’m resigned to having to support some of them over next few weeks/months, those on zero hour contracts / Eastern European’s
But any I know that will still get salary / be eligible fir benefits will be getting a response similar to micks
Got one polish guy stuck in Poland
He rang and asked fir £15 discount for time being he’s IT and works remotely
Very reasonable

I threatened another tenant with the police last week immediately when I heard from another tenant that he was going a bit bonkers over sharing fridge space in case he got infected and being quite intimidating

He’s a good tenant of 3 years and just needed a wake up call, he apologised

I’m going round deep cleaning More often too
Fruitless I know but it makes them and me feel better and supported
Also dropped off loo roll and lots of cleaning stuff
I’ll survive this financially
Been through worse
Many won’t
But existing benefit tenants who are already in the system and in a nice home with a nice landlord are in a GREAT position

The Corbyn Imbeciles has shafted tenants again. Tenants are rubbing their hands in glee thinking Yeah no rent to pay. Whereas we know, it's a deferred rent, mine take a year to catch up £10 they missed, so Corbynite has no clue of real world renting.
And now, u got another so many Landlords seen another Anti-landlord thing, so so many more are packing up, again reducing supply so the next tenants pay even more. And vulnerable HB can't get a look-in.
I talk to the Council Homeless section every week, & I get calls off HB tenants every day. No one wants 'em cause of the risks that Corbynite keeps pushing.
And that's it, my tenant yesterday was ALREADY IN THE POSITION that a lot of workers would like to be in, should they have to stop work.

Just spell out the truth
If u don’t pay I have to sell
End of
I care a LOT about my tenants too
I’ve supported people in the past through hard time’s anyway
This scale ?
I’ve got a wobble on....will be cancelling DD’s if I need to
Pay on my terms

I can’t force people not to be idiots / take the mick ( haha )
But I will, in no uncertain terms, spell reality out to them, and reflect their own behaviour back to them

That's the thing.
I care a lot about my tenants.
I've done a LOT for them & will continue to do so.
But I'm getting older & have been looking after a lot of them for 23 years. I don't have the energy or enthusiasm any more.
And I know some will crap on me if they get a better offer.
But this guy yesterday after I stopped him being homeless for a 2nd time when I bought his home for him. I bought him not the house by the way. I took a chance on him, the house was too much money. And then he tries that on yesterday.
