My wife and I have now both moved onto level three tasks, which means we cannot accept of verify further invitations. However, others that have posted on this comments thread can. Here's a quick tip for getting people signed up ...
Share your link on Facebook, then press share again. This will bring up an option to share as a message. Click that and you will see a screen with all your friends. Next to each of their names press the send button. It takes seconds and worked well for Mark and I.
