And Tory Eurosceptic MP Jacob Rees-Mogg said that Mr Duncan Smith had been “as important a welfare secretary as I can think of”.
“I think it is deeply concerning that a man of the stature and standing of Iain Duncan Smith should be pushed into this position,” he added
However, opposition parties welcomed Mr Duncan Smith’s resignation and called for Mr Osborne to resign as well.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said: “The resignation of Iain Duncan Smith reveals a government in disarray and a chancellor who has lost the credibility to manage the economy in the interests of the majority of our people.
“The chancellor has failed the British people. He should follow the honourable course taken by Iain Duncan Smith and resign.”
Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said on Twitter: “IDS resignation may be more about EU than his conscience – but he has struck a fatal blow to #PIP cuts and that’s a good thing.”
Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron said: “It is quite right that Iain Duncan Smith has resigned over this heartless plan to cut disability benefits, but the true mastermind of the changes, George Osborne, should also be considering his position.”

Yes totally agreed G Osborne should resign

I think more lenders will follow suit me making it easier to incorporate as it is in their interests they need to lend and protect their loan books

Osborne position now untenable so a reshuffle to save face
Cameron then can U turn on all their bad stuff.
No need for a judicial review
    UC is abandoned .
My tenants don`t become homeless after all
Cameron then jumps ship after June 23rd whichever way it goes
    Boris takes over
England by law will always win Ashes / Grand Slam / World Cup / Olympics
    Happy days

Hi Arthur I have the same predicament. My accountants are dragging their feet. I have discussed with RITA 4 Rent and sent them my portfolio analysis. They have quoted their proposed charges. I still can not get my general accountants to do even that. I have fed them information and asked them to raise their game. They are suggesting they charge me for their time reading it. We are at a stand off.
George has introduced uncertainty and wracked up our accountancy fees big time.

Tax in the UK has become more and more. Complicated and it is so hard to keep pace for accountants let alone those that are self employed, in business, landlords etc. So much legislation, tax, tinkering. And then the 4 returns per year that are coming soon if we don’t stop them. You will all pay as the accountant will need to charge and you may not be able to do it on your own. We all need to unite soon and tell them enough is enough. A few good changes in the budget for removing the business rate tax for some businesses. But in general it’s a full on assult on small businesses and unincorporated landlords and other landlords with sdlt changes

Hi N.W. Landlord. Both very possible and very scary. I was scammed with an index property financed by M.E. and am 9 years down the road of litigation. I have another with them and their right to consolidate is even scarier. I have written to G.O. about it BEFORE the summer budget 2015 and he paid my predicament scant regard, as did my M.P. Kenneth Clarke who was minister for justice at the time!!!!
Hence my pseudonym Shark Bait. I have tried to rally but we are all shark bait now, because G.O. is one of them. A big fish with sharp teeth in a relatively small pool. Europe has more expansive metaphorical waters?
