LHA tenants - Why won't landlords accept us?

Why landlords won’t take LHA tenants – this brave tenant has gone public.

Government need to take note because this illness has reached epidemic proportions and, in my opinion, is the reason many private landlords are refusing to take tenants on benefits. If a cure is not found soon Shelter may need to build shelters to house sufferers. I know that it is not PC to suggest that people are isolated because of their unfortunate health problems but maybe it is time that sufferers were kept in a controlled environment to prevent further spread of this syndrome?

Perhaps Government could put in some funding and ask one of our excellent universities to carry out some research?

What’s it like to be a celebrity Doreen?

Hysterically funny, have replayed it twice now and I’m crying. I used to know some of Doreen’s extended family in my old local authority housing days and I can confirm the condition is not just genetic but highly infectious and spreading rapidly across the UK  😮

Hi Stella, we got this trending on Twitter last night, let’s do Facebook today. I’m in the process of sharing it on all my landlord friends facebook walls.

Perhaps we could ask landlords to help us to trace other sufferers so that we could help Doreen to set up a support group?

Hi Mark, sure they’ll love it and think it’ll flash across the landlord community, truly the funniest thing I’ve seen for ages and will surely hit a chord with many ‘once-bitten’ landlords.  Would love to get some political reaction to it but sure that would be predictably defensive and highly pc

Stella I am sure that you are right no one will be brave enough to comment but if they watch it they cannot fail to see the serious message hidden in the humour.

As Tesco tell us “Every little helps” in the battle to restore the benefits system to a safety net rather than the dependency trap it has become.

Too true Mary, so agree.  Sometimes a message is more powerful when made with humour .. let’s hope this is one of them 🙂

“amburgers; looks good on your CV don’t it?” ~ hahaha!
I’m sure we have a lot of “Doreens” on our database!

And in answer to your question about your resemblance to Doreen Mary; NO COMMENT! xP

Oh it’s very easy to sneer and laugh at the less fortunate
among us but since the Government introduced these measures aimed at taking
money from the “what’s working?” class, I have tenants who don’t know where
their next packet of fags is coming from.
And forget about any sort of social life, bingo has had to be restricted
to only once a week.  If it wasn’t for
their Sky package life would hardly be worth living.  As for escaping down the pub to relieve the
monotony, since the smoking ban was introduced they have to force themselves to
    go in.

It’s alright for the young but what about those who are too
old to bang out another kid?  They can’t
make good their losses with some extra child allowance.

What we all tend to forget is that without these families
the unemployment figures would be through the roof, what with the reduced
numbers of Police, Security guards, Probation officers, Locksmiths, Prison
guards, Court staff, etc, etc.  We need
to recognise the contribution these people make to society and take care of
    them properly.
