Sometimes I Despair

If everybody who benefited from our campaign against The West Brom was do donate just 10% of the £27,500,000 we recovered for them Property118 Action Group would have a fighting find today of over £2.75 million.

If each person who read my article last night had committed £10 a month we would be building a fighting fund at a rate of over £110,000 a month.

Most haven’t contributed a penny piece.

Sometimes I despair, but then I pick myself up and carry on regardless, albeit it without the necessary funding we could do so much more with.

Do landlords not care enough about their business to contribute just £10 a month to help us to build a fund to fight for the future of their business?

When government or local Councils introduce stealth taxes and when mortgages lenders play games with terminology to increase interest rates the vast majority just seem to roll over and pay up hundreds and sometimes thousands of pounds, often with little more than a moan and a groan.

Why is this?

Why don’t they fight back?

Why don’t they contribute?

Have we not proven ourselves?

To pledge just £10 a month to Property118 Action Group please

I have signed up and paid substantially more than this to become a “founder member” – is this not the same thing? I am hoping these funds will be used in the upcoming fight against Clause 24 but havent heard anything further since making the contribution…? I believe that most of the funds for this have been raised through crowdfunding…? An update would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Here i am ..Finally ! A Founder member and proud to be . P118 have saved me and my little mortgage well over £100 a month plus a massive refund from West brom and the legal fund .
How could i not offer back a mere tax deductable ? £600 by way of thank you and also to secure my position with this powerful and strategically placed organisation so that we can fight the next battles ?

Thank you again Mark and team

I have put in the £600 to become a founder member. Although neither the West Brom or B of I debacle affected me directly, and the Clause 24 will only affect me slightly I think it’s really important that I, as a small landlord , have a voice. We are constantly being hounded not only by the press, but now seemingly by the government. Surely £10 a month, or the £600 to become a founder member (both tax deductible) should be seen as a very worthwhile insurance.

I likewise was not affected by the West Brom scam but did contribute £100 to the fighting fund. And I will be only very marginally affected by Clause 24. I love receiving my Property 118 email on a Saturday morning showing all the week’s articles and have a really good read for an hour or so. Surely this is worth £10 a month ? What Mark is doing here is extraordinary and I have just signed up to contribute my £10 a month. Is this really tax deductible though ? If so then the cost to me as a basic rate payer is only £8 a month.
Come on all you fellow readers let’s show our appreciation for what Mark is doing and what he has already achieved – the best landlord website there is !!

Similarly there are around 10,000 letting agents – all of whom should be demonstrating to their landlords that they ‘have their backs’ and embracing collective lobbying.

    Hello Ian

We were the first to report clause 24 and have attracted more attention to it than any other media outlet. We have done more lobbying than any other group, we have influenced more media exposure than any other group and we truly believe we have influenced more donations to the campaign than any other group.

If Chris and Steve are granted a Judicial Review we have pledged to support their campaign with the largest financial donation to date.

We are a fledgling action group with minuscule resources and financial reserves in comparison to the landlord association but we are doing more.

    Does this answer your question?

Ditto Lisa. I don’t trust the politicians and cannot fight them on my own so am happy to be a founder member with leaders who have a record of achievement and getting things done!

I pledged £10 per month to become a member.
What are the benefits of being a founder member? Do you have to contribute £600 per year?
    Thank you .
