At the age of just 28 years old Emma Fielding has created a property empire.

From working in Morrisons as an accountant, to now looking for the best property deals, Emma caught the property bug and has built a successful property-flipping business in her hometown of Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

This dynamic young woman is now the talk of the town and the winner of the 2023 Young Property Investor of the Year. To date, Emma has flipped 10 properties with another three in the pipeline and has raised more than £1.5 million from angel investors.

Emma’s second year of trading amounted to a turnover of more than £1 million with a net profit of six figures.

However, it’s not been easy for Emma as she has faced numerous sleepless nights in the pursuit of her dreams working in property.

She said: “I have proven by starting in property with little capital, growing your network, taking calculated risks and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, you can turn a passion for developing into reality and become a successful property investor.

“Winning this award has given me an incredible amount of achievement where the long days, taking risks and at times sleepless nights have paid off as property isn’t easy but it’s worth it!”

Emma was working in Morrisons before her career in property began but after buying her first property in Yorkshire things changed.

She explains: “In December 2019, I bought my first house in Barnsley while working for Morrisons training to be an accountant, doing the refurb myself with family and some trades.

“I made more than my corporate job annual salary in nine months, then I sold that property and brought another property and did it again but in six months this time.

“I had the opportunity to leave Morrisons and at this point, I had built up a cash pot of £100k which was enough to get started in property. This kickstarted my full-time property career in January 2021.”

The project which secured her award saw Emma and a team of local builders transform a bungalow into a stunning showcase property.

She explains: “Project Inn was bought in August 2022 for £264,500 as a two-bed detached bungalow on ‘Millionaire’s Row’ in Barnsley.

“After renovating the property for eight months turning it to four bedrooms and three bathrooms and adding over 55 sqm to the original footprint, the property was sold for £495,000 in August 2023.

“I project managed the renovation from start to finish with a team of local builders to complete the extension while my team of trades completed the interiors. I have personally profited over £93,000 from the deal.”

However, Emma doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon as she begins to build a buy to let portfolio of her own. Her success story is the ultimate proof that in the world of property, ambition knows no bounds.
