The Government with help from the big six energy companies has released funding for free energy-saving measures for home-owners, landlords and the benefit of tenants to include the installation of:

Electric heaters, Electric Heating systems, Gas boilers, Gas central heating systems, Cavity wall insulation (new beads), Solid wall external and internal insulation, Underfloor insulation and Room in roof insulation.

Soon they will be backing grants for; Solar Panels, Heat pumps and Windows

I am a surveyor and this is great news for help with energy efficiency improvements.

Tenants must be in receipt of a benefit to allow for the grant
If social housing it’s through LA FLEX

Then with your permission it’s but through
Contact Greener uk Surveyors ltd
or Eco measures ltd
Mention Mark Jenkins please....
Both companies I am putting surveys through at the moment.

Just checked eligibility and as usual, it is restricted to mainly tenants in receipt of income support/benefits etc. This cancels out our properties. So much for helping Landlords too.

Mark Jenkins, perhaps there may be an opportunity for us and our tenanted properties. Can we discuss it tomorrow? Which organization should I contact to make contact with you?

Hi NewYorkie,
The Eco 3 measures includes the gas boiler and a full central heating system if the property has electric storage heaters as main heat source. If electric panel heaters as main then it’s a upgrade to storage heaters.
The grant even covers the install of a mains gas supply as long as gas out in road within 20m of house boundary.
The grant is subject to terms and conditions, some cost to owner maybe incurred like the use of scaffold or vertical flue options.
I think this is fare and it’s a great grant.
You must be in receipt of a benefit if you own the home and if your a tenant you must be in receipt of a benefit then it’s a case of getting the landlord/owner of property permission.
All grants issued must be quality audited through a tough scheme to confirm that it a genuine case. Without the correct info at time of survey the job can not take place.
I hope that this clarifies the query.
If you req any more help please contact me direct on my email.
Kind regards
Mark

Hi Lesley,
More than happy to assist with the case.
The work comes under the ECO 3
Depending on your location I can then get the right company to help you.
If you are down the southern part of the UK, one of my contacts are Greener UK Surveyors ltd they do two routes to get the grant.
Route 1 ECO3 qualifying route
Benefits route (see the benefits list )
Will email you a copy if req.
Route 2 ECO3 LA FLEX
Not based on benefits
Done on geographic area through local authority.
Look up “One board” covers 90 local Authority areas.

Kind regards
Mark

Hi Lesley,
Firstly thank you for asking for more information on the ECO3.
It’s set up by the big six energy companies to make homes better with carbon reduction measures.
If your property has gas boiler it would only be replaced if it’s older than 7 years and is loosing water pressure lets just say...
Then to get a boiler replacement you would need to have a primary measure carried out such as cavity wall insulation, solid wall insulation (internal or external ), room in a roof insulation etc. The grant will not cover the boiler on its own if you have gas there. If you have electric as main heating then first time central heating could be installed in place or old electric storage heaters. The windows are not yet on the deal but will follow as a grant to assist with old single glazed type built b4 2002.
Not sure of the full detail but have been told as long as windows are older than 15 years old they could be done. The window grant will cover some of the cost.
My contact for you would be:
Eco measures ltd call 0800 4480 550 http://Www.ecofunding.uk
* please pass my details on to other landlords etc or home owners who I may be able to assist.

*Please could you say that you found this info from me
“Mark Jenkins Bournemouth “ as they will ask...
Then you would be helping me out too.
I thank you for your support.

Regards Mark

Mark, I have made contact with Eco Measures Ltd and will be sending them (Amanda Roberts) a list of the properties for us to work out eligibility. I did mention your name. Fingers crossed we can do something with this grant. Thank you for your help.

Hi Colin

I understand you are in Bournemouth and can help Landlords access the new eco grants from the Government.

I am interested in getting your advice as I am in the same town.

Verity
