Hi, I’m renting out one property through a local estate agent, paying 11% of the rental value to them.
I have really good long term renters in and happy to keep the renters (renewed in March for another 12 months).
However, I want to change estate agents.
Does anyone have experience of this without having to change renters or do I have to serve notice on them & for them to exit the property?
I’m happy to wait until the contract expires in February and then change.
I just want to keep the renters!
Thanks for your advice.
Helen

Why do you need an agent involved with a current tenant?
Why are you paying 11%? Are they managing the property? If not then stop paying them every year.

Hi
I have just ditched my agent and managing the property myself, They wanted 3 months notice, however I managed to get it down to one month, due to a series of errors on their part.

Were you able to keep the tenants in or did they have to leave the property and so did you have to get new tenants in?

I originally didn’t want to manage the rental myself for a number of reasons. The estate agents are managing the rental property, but we have different definitions! I’m wanting out but don’t want to lose the tenants as they are great.
