Carbon monoxide replacement date sticker?

Carbon monoxide replacement date sticker?

Hi, A third party recently carried out a routine inspection at my property. By the way, I knew nothing about the visit.

The agent confirmed as they are way behind with their inspections (I attend with my branch every 3 months) so not a problem for the property being inspected again! A third party is working for them.

The inspection highlighted my Carbon Monoxide monitor was not displaying a REPLACEMENT date sticker! This was never discussed by the agent or check in independent inventory clerk.

I will be going out to rectify this, but strange how this was not raised before!

Do you all have these stickers displayed please?

Thank you,

Alison

Not aware of this providing they are checked on a regular inspection then I see no issue and the devices do not have an (out of date on) the FireAngel has a 5 year warranty so perhaps replace after 5 years.

It is advisable to replace them after their warranty expires and they all have a 'life expectancy'

For the sake of £20 or so I would provide a new one and write the date on it..............

When these are fitted the date should be written on them. As a landlord you should replace them when that date expires. If there is no date written who is to know how old it is. Sounds like a good inspection from the 3rd party if you ask me (you should thank them).

No hate plz

The older ones I used to have, had a place to write a fitted date, and they expired so many years from that point. The ones I now use, Fire Angel, fixed battery 10 years, just had a printed replacement by date.

when new ones fitted I ask the contractor to sharpie the date on the back and take a photo of it in situ. I then make a note and replace at the time the product is deemed replacement needed. Some are 5 years some are 10 years. (unless it fails before then).
I also use this photo in the inventory.
