Can Millennials use the phone?
Can Millenials use the phone? When we advertise a property through an online agent we are sent email addresses/phone numbers of those who express an interest.
We get many, and I need to qualify them before showing them the property. Otherwise it can be a waste of their time and mine.
The best and most efficient way to do this is by phone, so I email, asking them to phone me. But 80% never do.
I could send them a form, I suppose, but I can get a feel of them on the phone, and they can easily ask me questions. Have other people found a way round this?

Not only are you methods of communication outdated, your terminology is too…Millennials are now pushing 40. You mean Gen Z. And Neil is right, WhatsApp would be a better choice. Nobody wants personal interaction anymore. Self-service checkouts, AirBnB lockbox codes to let yourself in, scan your phone to collect a parcel from a locker… ‘Tis the way of the world.

I was born in 1980; does that make me a millennial?
Anyway, I prefer to correspond via email. I like the proof of the written word for both parties.

In short, yes. Millennials, also known as Generation Y or the Net Generation, are the demographic cohort that directly follows Generation X. The term Millennials is usually considered to apply to individuals who reached adulthood around the turn of the 21st century.

So true, no one picks up calls any more.
How safe is using whatsapp? Is it better to use a separate mobile for it?
I am not on any social media, Facebook , Twitter etc., just email.

I have the same problem as you where I am asked for a viewing without knowing anything about a prospective tenant. I usually send a message giving my number and saying to text me, and I will call them back however, in the majority of cases it ends there. People no longer want to talk.
I do agree that the best and most efficient way to communicate with a prospective tenant in the first instance is by phone which saves a lot of time and one gets a feel of the person at the other end.
I have also found that people no longer want to leave voice mails as normally no message is left after it goes to voice mail.
I guess texts are the new method of communication in this new world.

Yeah, you can’t hear a foreign accent over a text message.

Late-70s/early-80s can be Gen X, Millennial or the crudely-termed, but rarely used ‘Xennial’…think it’s a Yank thing.

Whatsapp is an encrypted message and is very hard to hack.

My experience exactly when advertising on OpenRent. They email saying they want to view on such a day at such a time. Often not even leaving their name let alone their contact number. I would say about 20% of enquiries actually lead to a viewing.
