    Hi Laura

    In one word; “WOW”!

Thank you so much for posting this, it was a pleasure to meet with you and Ismail too this Tuesday.

Your comment couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, I’ve just added a new page to our Tax Section – see >>> https://www.property118.com/tax-planning-consultancy/

    Thanks again

Just been to see my MP. I think Ive managed to convince him that this is a rip off and 1000’s of landlords will be hit by totally unfair, and discriminatory tax!
His suggestion was that someone needs to coordinate the MP’s that are willing to support us. He was honest when he said that GO would not listen to him on his own.
Is there anything like that happening? How many people on here have been to see their MP or at least written? Mine was initially more concerned about the effect that higher interest rates would have!! He had not heard about the possible Judicial review with Cherie Blair etc.
    @Mark Alexander any ideas?

    Hi Rhys

Sadly, most of the MP’s (all political persuasions) have fallen for the sophistry promulgated by George Osborne and David Gauke.

Let’s hope Cherie Blair’s letter delivers a wake up call.

    Hi Rhys,

That is some interesting feedback. May I ask, who is your MP?

    Hi Gareth.
I asked Rhys yesterday and he said David Davies.
As I’ve mentioned before, my Labour MP, Wayne David, is quite supportive but a small fish.

Yes Gareth as Ros has said its David Davies Tory Monmouth. I get the impression that they are all small fish who on their own have little influence. So I vote for a guy that frankly cant do anything against the big Ministers. The situation strinks. He was sort of…”well I can see your point BUT … and then go on about agreeing that people who borrow from foreign banks should be treated the same!! Thanks David now please tell me where Im meant to get the extra £25k tax from every year? He thought as my profit was not that high (because of all my debt from the good old days) Id be better off investing my money in other ways. THATS NOT THE POINT! I am where I am and I need equity to clear everything. Its not a 5 min job, or even 4y (kindly given by GO!) come to that if the market doesnt improve. SO many Landlords in SO many different situations. WOW this really annoys me!

For the record, I have sent 2 letters (via email) and 3 chasers to my MP for a response and have had nothing back.

Cheryl Gillan – Chesham & Amersham

    Disgraceful.

    Hi r d.
Perhaps you could go and see her at her surgery – then she at least has to pretend to listen. Many of us have found that letters don’t work, but that face to face meetings are a lot more effective.

Presumably GO has a constituancy? Does he have to conduct surgeries? Who are his local landlords? Maybe we could have a ‘team event’ at his surgery LOL!
