A few of the Lords have been sympathetic to the points that have been raised, however, the Lords have been powerless to affect the passing of a Finance Bill since around the year 1910.
As you will have seen from the link I posted in my last comment, the Finance Bill 2015 has now passed through the House of Lords.

Mark,
I can see through the grid that, it has gone through House Of Lords stage” however aren’t these very same guys who will give “Royal Assent”?
If you are saying that, Lords have been powerless since 1910 then does this mean Royal Assent is inevitable?
Could they not give any ruling such as this Tax should not be retrospective i.e. should not apply to existing BTL properties?

I wonder if this will affect landlords’ ability to remortgage existing BTL mortgaged properties in the future.
Right now the most probable cause of crisis in the housing market is this bandwagoning grasper of a chancellor.

I copied and pasted following from Parliament website from the link, Mark has sent:
Latest news on the Finance Bill 2015-16
Second reading (and all remianing stages) took place on 10 November.
The House of Lords cannot amend Money Bills so committee stage, report stage and third reading are just formalities.
Royal Assent is scheduled for 18 November.
