Jenrick confirms Housing Market will stay open
Although there has been no official guidance on any government website or press release yet, Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick, has announced yesterday by Twitter that the Housing Market will remain open within coronavirus safety limits during Lockdown part2.
Jenrick has so far confirmed – Housing market update ahead of Thursday’s measures:
- Renters and homeowners will be able to move
- Removal firms and estate agents can operate
- Construction sites can and should continue
- Tradespeople will be able to enter homes
- But all must follow the Covid safety guidance
NAEA Propertymark Chief Executive, Mark Hayward, commented: “We welcome the news that the housing market is to remain open throughout this second lockdown period, and it is essential that all agents continue to play their part in reducing the spread of the virus through following all relevant guidance.”

Presumably valuers and surveyors will be allowed access to properties.

Any news on EWS1 Mr Jenrick? The market is stalled as lenders won`t lend until they see one for properties that don`t even need one. Nuts.

We have not one single sq inch of the alluminium or other flammablec ladding, what we DO have is a combination of thermal insulation installed under Regulation O that WAS compliant when installed in 2000-04 but is now not, firebreaks and fire stopping is also deemed substandard, all hidden, but bizarrely a small amount of decorative wood panelling which we are told was never compliant; now excuse n=me, do not building go through planning, building control, and do not Councils issue Building Complican Completion Cetificates, for what exactly DO Councils charge if not to do their job?
