RLA/Pearl “Welfare Reform and Universal Credit” survey
Here’s a link to the RLA/Pearl’s current survey: ‘State of the PRS’ Q1 2019 quarterly survey that focuses on Welfare Reform issues. This project is titled: “Welfare Reform and Universal Credit: Evaluating the impact on the Private Rented Sector” and the research has been commissioned from Edge Hill University.
“This survey includes questions on the roll-out of Universal Credit and other welfare reforms, the local-housing allowance rates, government policy changes, your attitudes and experiences as landlords, information about your portfolio, and questions about trends in the private rented sector.
“The data will be analysed and presented in an anonymous and/or aggregated format in published academic work and reports. The research findings will be used to inform policy and practice in the private rented sector.”

I did mine yesterday.
I don’t want mine to be anonymous.
I want them to come ask me ‘Mick, what’s really going on, on ground level’.
I can’t believe organisations like the RLA hasn’t come to ask the big Landlords who specialise in HB LHA UC, What can be changed easy?
I’m here RLA, Yoo-Hoo it’s not hard to get hold of me & Luke & Monty & Larry whoever else houses a lot of UC tenants.
I We can solve maybe 50% of homeless in 2.9 seconds. So easy, won’t cost ANY MONEY. In fact, will save the taxpayer millions & us & UC DWP thousands of man hours.

I would encourage all landlords that have contact with the welfare reform to complete the survey as to date not much research has been done on the impact of universal credit in PRS.

I believe I’ve emailed u directly through the RLA email someone gave u.
Checking emails, yes on 8.4.19 0817.
I’m here, you’ve got my number if u want to know what’s happening. I only have so many on UC so far as Nottingham is just change of circumstances at moment.
I’ve just got back from meeting with UC complaints manager, UC service manager, UC partnership area manager, Job Centre manager.
I’d like to say positive, & some changes coming when the UC DWP slow wheel eventually stops in the right position.
But real truth will be the rent arrears.
Still too much emphasis on making the tenant responsible.
At the meeting, very good people, but their hands are tied by the bureaucracy & slowness of UC DWP.
