10 More Section 24 Campaign Billboards To Be Erected Soon

Section 24 campaigner David Heard has revealed the locations for the erection of 10 further billboards which will cost just £3,600 ‘all in’. This figure includes printing, pasting, VAT and rental of advertising space for two weeks. A copy of the invoice can be viewed via this link.

The image at the top of this article shows the slightly amended billboard text. Can you spot the difference?

Note the reference to Section24.info which is a stand alone website created purely for extension of the campaign.

The image below shows where the next 10 boards will be located, as well as traffic data statistics.

When funds allow, the next set of billboards will be placed further North.

This 10 extra billboards will be a fantastic boost for the campaign and will doubtless raise its profile and the funding of more billboards as well as local press coverage in the areas they appear in. Pictures of newly erected billboards to follow.

ACTION YOU CAN TAKE

The orange text links to other pages.

To spread the word, why not print an image of our Billboard onto a piece of A4 paper and ask your local shops (especially letting agents) to display it in their windows and on notice boards?

How about putting it in your car window?

Maybe you could send a copy to your local MP or Councillor?

Alongside our campaigning, Property118 has been helping as many private housing providers as possible to minimise the effects of the Section 24 Tax Reforms. By optimising the structure of their businesses to minimise, and in some cases to mitigate the extra tax, the impact on tenants is also reduced. You can read more about these structures via the link below.

I have printed several copies and will try to get my local shops to display them. I have already put one in my car.

I've saved the PDF to my desktop and this weekend I will be attaching it to a covering email to all of my tenants as well as sending that email by post with a section 13 notice.

Thanks also for the link to the page to find MP's and local Councillors contact information. I will also be sending them a a copy by email and post.

Every little helps!

I also donated to the campaign when it first started, anonymously of course, and may add more.

When I put in "section24.info" (as suggested on the billboard) it came up with an article from a company called "No Agent". If we want tenants, MPs, and the press, to search for "section24.info" then surely this should be leading to a webpage that is about the impact on tenants' rents? I think the message we put out there should be from a tenants' perspective, e.g. section 24 adds costs to a landlord so these costs will have to be added to the rent so really the Government is forcing landlords to increase the rents and it is the government that is therefore forcing tenants to pay more, as none of the extra rent will be going to the landlord, instead it will be going to the Government. (A bit like when they add more fuel duty tax, and the petrol prices go up, this is not profit to the petrol retailer, it is simply more tax that is being paid to the Government by the consumer).

That will be sorted today. It’s a new URL and may not have fully propagated through the internet yet. By the time the new billboards are up it will be, in fact, if you try again now it might be fine already.

Google Chrime browser is likely to start working first.

It worked for me.

Came up as an advert when I used Google search from Firefox and when I entered it into Google Chrome it went straight to the Property118 page

I am as horrified as any landlord over Section 24 as I face the pending abyss of a tax liability more than I shall actually be earning, thanks to this tax. However, while supply and demand rules I still fail to see how individual landlords can raise their rents to cover these Government-imposed increased costs unless absolutely every landlord does the same. It might be different in other parts of the UK, but in south London rents have been falling of late with a surfeit of properties available and a dirth of tenants. There are far too many accidental landlords with one property around here who I anticipate will probably just bail their properties out. Having considered all my options, unless the tax is reversed I shall be selling most of my portfolio and reluctantly leaving the market.

Have you looked into the costs/benefits of restructuring?

Have considered that when supply falls rents will be driven up by demand?

Hang on in there, either way we have you covered 🙂

I have two properties within 200 yards of the Coventry Billboard. Keep up the good work!

Great news John, we will post pictures as soon as each billboard is papered and pasted. They are all scheduled to be done by 21st May.

Meanwhile, please help us to raise extra money to pay for some more - link below.
