Thank you for sharing this Mark! We really enjoyed putting this together, and I hope your readers will find the conclusions interesting.

Hi Rob – All interesting stuff
but but but ……
Am I having an off day or is the stat 96% of landlords have fewer than 10 properties right. Shouldn`t it be 96% have fewer than 21?
I don`t quite get the stat of 2% of investors that have zero properties!
Can they be called investors if they have zero properties?

Hi Mark
Thanks for putting this on Property 118, it is great to know where we sit in the mix of Landlords. All be it a bit tongue in cheek if only 162 landlords were surveyed.
And thanks to Rob Dix for commissioning the survey in the first place, interesting stuff.
Mark how about doing the same survey on this website?
P.S. And yes, I wish I had started younger, just was not able too.

Hi Jonathan – you’ve sleuthed out a typo there. The percentage should say that 89% have 10 properties or fewer
And yes, “wannabe investor” would be more appropriate for the 2% who haven’t got off the mark yet 🙂

Hi Colin
I suspect a significant amount of data came from Property118 readers because the survey was marked here earlier this year.
We will be pleased to help Rob again too if he decides to run another survey.

Hi Rob
If I had known that the survey results would have been presented so well I’d have pushed the survey a lot harder to Property118 members, perhaps even special one off email to secure maximum engagement and certainly more exposure in our regular newsletters.
Let’s work together on another survey next year, perhaps in the Spring?
