Tigrent Learning – would you recommend this training?

I would like to move into property investing but have no experience whatsoever. I have a friend who went through Tigrent Learning and is now a successful property investor and I would like to follow in her footsteps. However, the course is very expensive and I want to show my family it is worth it and in order to do that, I would like to know how other investors who are successful without going through Tigrent did it and whether they would have spent £18000 on a course to help them every step of the way by other professional successful property investors. Tigrent Learning - would you recommend this training

Many thanks

Claudia

I'm late to the party but I found property118 following one of these free 2 hour seminars under Legacy Alliance (or Legacy Education Alliance, Inc). It seems they have had a name change but the events of their freebee happened as described here. Bring one other. Get a tablet with all your planning and management tools loaded and ready to go. Phone mentoring for life. Everything they want to sell you you get for free by paying for this 3 day course. No mention of their more expensive products.

Needless to say I was keen to learn more and almost signed up for the £997, 3 day course if it wasn't for the following:

The registration/payment/contract was pre-signed. I never sign anything to that kind of value where I haven't witnessed a signature. I couldn't even point to the person in the room who's signature it was!

They wanted full payment right there and then, today, at this moment, so I said I didn't bring a suitable bank card that would allow that purchase. This exchange made me uneasy.

My next alarm was the biggest... He then asked if I could contact anyone to bring me my bank cards! How desperate are you for a sale? REALLY?!

I'll also mention that when I went up to the back bench the person giving the presentation got louder and louder and really upped the hard sell, so much so that I had difficulty reading the fine print of the contract and I was unable to ask questions and have a conversation.

When I said I couldn't hear him he asked me to take a seat and ask them later as there were people behind me. Wait? I have some questions and you're asking me to take a seat so you can sign others up? I was important when I was ready to sign but I hesitated so you're brushing me aside?! Lol!

Well, I took a seat. I sat down and Googled them. Couldn't get a signal because we were conveniently in the basement seminar room of a hotel.

So I went to the bathroom, went outside, Googled Legacy Alliance Scam. Googled property investment seminar scam..... And just kept walking.

That was 2 days ago and now I find myself here. Close call I'd say! No way would I have bought their more expensive products.

Now to Google 'buy to let'!

Hi Sally,

It would be great to understand where you got the knowledge from to carry out your 3 HMOs. I have recently taken the 3 day Tigrent course and have 2 small BTLs but am keen to change my career path and move into property investment full time, but in order to do this would want to learn quickly and am struggling to see how I can do this alone without a trainer/mentor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think creative finance is what they are doing. Think - a degree is £9000 per year. So you could have got an associate degree (or HNC level) for the same money. The dormant nursing home story would probably not happen now as the market was rising like a rocket at that time and nursing home regulation subsequently became much stricter. Thanks for sharing your experience, I hope things have picked up for you.
