Tenants from the council/DWP not paying rent?
Hello, I have two tenants who have been with me for over two years with the rent paid by the council or Universal Credit.
They were both were vetted by the council, and the rent paid.
Two months ago, the rent payment stopped.
Since then there has been no rent on both and no suggestion of when this can be resolved. They won’t talk to me or my agent, citing protection of privacy.
The tenants are living in my properties so do I have any legal route as this is nonsense to withhold information and rents.
Thank you,
Martyn

Virtually all mortgage lenders have removed that DSS restriction now, but I agree it was a problem in the past

Even if they haven’t physically removed it, it is now no longer legally enforceable So you won’t get the mortgage recalled for an alleged breach If you have a DSS tenant
