Landlords, light-bulbs and downlights
I’ve had tenants move out and there are lots of light-bulbs in downlights not working. They were in full working order when the tenants moved in. ![]()
Are landlord’s responsible for changing the bulbs in downlights?
Thanks
Kari

HI
i agree with your sentiment. you were wanting an answer, not advice. lightbulbs are a consumable and so are a tenant’s responsibility. having changed many spotlights in the past, this is a fiddly job and not as quick as a normal lightbulb.

Recent end of tenancy at 1 bed flat revealed all light bulbs blown excepting 1 small kitchen light and bathroom central light. It was a reflection of the tenants lasyness and similar issues like uncleaned oven, kitchen and bathroom became apparent.
From a positive view it was good to have them leave.
