Hello, My property has just been inspected by the local council after my tenant complained about some issues regarding damp.
Prior to the council issuing their report I wanted to provide them evidence that supports my assertion that the problem is being caused by the tenant themselves.
This would include emails and chat messages between the tenant and myself.
Would this be a breach of data protection laws?
Thank you,
Leslie

Yes, paper copies are covered by GDPR. If you organise your records eg. by sticking all documentation for a property in a physical zippy bag then this is an organised filing system.

I fought the Council. I took them to court although it never came to that in the end. Luckily the court was delayed because of a serious criminal case. It was a year long battle but I won. The Council told me to make whatever agreement I would like and they would sign it.
Where has your fighting spirit gone?
