I have just been told the house is to be sold?

11:38 AM, 21st September 2015, 11 years ago 4

I wondered if anyone could help. I’ve just been told that our landlord is going to have to sell our house due to personal problems. for sale

Every property I have ever lived in has always been rented from the same landlord and it is thought he thinks he can help us get a Mortgage which would be great.

I have been advised by my step Dad who works for our landlord to call on Monday to discuss this further. I am very concerned as we pay way below the rental threshold for our area and looking at the rental market where we live is pretty much double what we pay at the moment, which I simply do not have.

However, my credit score is not the best at the moment and I do not have a deposit for the property. Is there anything I can do to get around this or is it a no goer from the start?

I would appreciate any advice you might have on this

Many thanks,

Mark

    Hi Mark,

Your Landlord sounds like a very helpful chap.

I would recommend you show him our Buy to Let property for sale home page >> https://www.property118.com/

It is free to advertise his property and is specifically designed to help Landlords sell to other Landlords without the need to move tenants, which makes sense for all involved 🙂

not surprised your landlord is in trouble charging you half rent. this illustrates why rents should be charged at proper market rate.

You might be able to get a mortgage with a very small deposit through help to buy, and would your Dad be prepared to act as guarantor to help overcome the credit score issue? Also there may be things you can do to improve your credit score. There is a lot of advice available on-line if you do a search.

    Thanks Alison,

I’ll take a bit more of look into this and yes my family have said they would guarantor to help with the credit score side.

I guess the main stumbling block at the moment is the deposit, I know that help to buy from what I’ve seen so far offer a scheme for 5% which still is quite a lot for a property in my area, when you say small is this the scheme you refer too?

    Many thanks,

    Mark Reed
