Hello, I have excellent long term tenants in Wales.
They have two young children and like most people in their position finances are a bit tight at the moment.
I’ve kept the rent well under market value and fitted a new boiler a couple of years ago.
Does anyone know of any free loft insulation schemes at the moment?
I’ve searched the internet but only seem to get the hard sell from companies.
Thanks.
Adrian

Hi Adrian, there are a few schemes around that can fund loft insulation. I would recommend you first approach your utility company as there is a scheme they run called ECO, the energy company obligation, to help with this. An alternative may be the local authority delivery scheme (LADS), run as the name suggests by local councils. Not all councils do this, and it tends to be more tightly focused on those in fuel poverty. Finally, there are a number of individual schemes run by local authorities but not under the central government funded LADS umbrella, again targeting fuel poverty. Most councils have someone in their housing departments looking at retrofit and energy conservation so it may be worth trying to make contact with them to find out what is available in your particular area.
