Ex tenant still using my address after 4 years?

Hello, please could I get some advice regarding how to report this? I rent 3 rooms out in a house. I have been recently informed by an existing tenant that an ex-tenant who used to live at my house back in 2019 still uses my address with her GP.

She has moved away to another place very far away but uses my address to get services from a local hospital that she would not be eligible for from her current address. My existing tenant helps her with the posts (despite me telling him that’s its not right). The ex-tenant lived at mine for only a month (she had faked her employment and landlord references and when I had confronted her about that, she had offered to leave.)

I had informed the police back then but they were not interested. I do believe I should inform NHS about this as I don’t like my address being used like this, but don’t know whom to email/contact. Would anyone have any advice please?

Thanks,

Rita

Sounds like you need to threaten the current tenant with eviction if she continues to assist the ex-tenant.

Tell them to hold the mail for you only.

The hospital slots they are using might be one you need one day.

I found same mail kept coming back. So I get a large envelope, put the return address on it, and post with no stamp. Mail never comes back again. If this is any help to anyone.

It is illegal to open post addressed to anyone not you and you could be charged with a criminal offence. Postal Act 2000.

Also the addressee or sender can report you to Royal Mail Security who then can bring charges

Just put return to sender OR on the back of the envelope there is often a return to sender post code. Looking that up will give you the company and you can just ring them

My understanding is that it is an offense to open someone else’s post “with malice/intent to harm”, all other reasons are therefore not an offense. Preventing fraud being a justifiable reason.
