Excellent article in The Times this morning on page 22 under the “Opinion” byeline of Jenni Russell. She points out that the Panama Papers reveal how much criminal and laundered money has poured into the London property market. ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND properties have been bought in London through secret offshore companies. Indigenous buyers in London have to compete with the richest and most corrupt people in the world.
And what does the slimy spiv Osborne do? He cuts the legs away from home grown property investors by denying them what every other business gets – the ability to offsets cost against profit.

Osborne obviously decided to do it to UK native investors instead. What a gutless little sleaze.
The Tories are also planning to privatise the Land Registry (Private Eye 15 April 2016 page 7 “Cash Registry”). Private equity group Advent have expressed an interest. The company already owns various other UK businesses – through the tax haven of Jersey!
