    Hi BTL IS

    Thanks for posting the link.

Richard Dyson wrote: “In an ironic twist law firm Omnia Strategy, founded and chaired by Cherie Blair QC, the wife of Tony Blair, has been appointed to represent landlords’ interests.”

The real irony is not that we have had recourse to a firm founded by the wife of a member of the right wing of the Labour party. The real irony is that we have had to take action against a Conservative government for adopting a far left-wing policy that attacks its own natural supporters.

The proposal was not in the Labour manifesto under Ed Miliband, who was far to the left of Tony Blair.

The only manifesto that contained this lunatic proposal was that of the Green party, under Natalie Bennett, whose partner is Jim Jepps, a left-wing activist who was a member of the Trotskyite Socialist Workers Party for 10 years, according to Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natalie_Bennett

I do not recall her drawing attention to this proposal in the televised debate among the spokesmen for seven parties. Five polls of people asking who they thought had won the debate all put Natalie Bennett next to bottom, ahead of only the Plaid Cymru spokeswoman, with abject scores: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_general_election_debates,_2015#The_ITV_Leaders.27_Debate_.282_April.29

The Green party had a candidate in every constituency in the UK, and every last one was rejected by the electorate except its single sitting MP, who was ousted as leader in 2012 by Natalie Bennett.

The Chancellor cynically implemented a policy from a tiny party that was rejected by the voters, and announced an increase in income tax nine weeks after David Cameron promised that there would not be any increase in income tax if the Conservatives were voted in.

Appalled Landlord, this is remarkably good point and this should be debated at judicial review, if we do reach that mark!

    Chris,

Thanks for that. So there is still a possibility that, judge may not grant judicial review? what could be his basis of rejection?

Hi Lun Bun: Permission to bring judicial review proceedings must be granted by the court. Permission will only be granted if the judge determines that we have an arguable case. It will up to our barrister / legal team to convince the judge that we do, and the “Opinion” will details our grounds. More detail under the “how much are we raising and what is it for?” section on our Crowd Justice web site.

That’s great Chris. I do think we have a case but I hope judge is not biased as it involves government.

Have you already had, informal advice from barrister?
