Great article. But you missed out two other nightmares. 1. The court system. Already at the forefront of demonising landlords, they will be instructed by government to prevent evictions at all costs. I heard from a barrister that this is...

I certainly agree with improving the justice system. For some strange reason we now have a two-tier system whereby judges treat landlords as the enemy and tenants as innocent victims. WHY? Surely both should be treated as equal in the...

Reply to the comment left by Elizabeth Hill at 12/10/2024 - 09:35Unfortunately, the class action you suggest would be heard by our left-leaning and totally corrupt judicial system. My Section 21 at Willesden County Court took 8 months to get...

Neither. The Conservatives have decimated the BTL industry (ably assisted by local councils and the courts). Labour will make things worse. My vote goes to Reform UK

Reply to the comment left by Dennis Forrest at 24/04/2024 - 10:09The Conservatives have become socialist while pretending to be capitalist, Labour are, of course, died-in-the-wool socialists and the judiciary are socialists pretending to be unbiased. Not a good time...

It would also help if the judges overseeing these cases weren't corrupt. Any chance we can have Shariah Law or Sikh Law? Can' t be any worse that what we currently have.

A landlord for 25 years, but I've had enough and it's nothing to do with the tenants I've had/have. I used to run my business. But not any more. Now the Government, Councils and the unjust and barely functioning courts run my business. Maintaining decent housing for my, mostly good, tenants is now secondary to all the self-appointed vested interests. The nanny state has well and truly screwed over what used to be a pleasant and profitable business. Cant wait to sell up and retire.
