If they don't like the rent being charged, then live further out or in a smaller place, that's what I did when renting. When inflation and capital gains are taken into account are landlords really making super normal gains?

Even better, because there is no bidding wars, landlords will advertise higher rents and accept lower bids. So if the market rents are advertised rents, it's all good.

I think there is a fundamental mistake. How are landlords responsible for tenants financial situation? If a tenant cannot afford the rent they should contact the landlord about that, or find a cheaper property.
