Own a very small portfolio of properties..
Have skills in finance, accounting and software.
Interested in ways of making property management more efficient.
Less effort
Less time
Less costs
More revenue
Have developed custom software(Not commercial) for managing own properties.
Believe the government is to big, and cause more problems than they solve with their involvement in many things.

Had the same thing in Bromley several times. I pointed out it would cost them more cost posting out bills and dealing with me via several challenges. They have dropped chasing this up several times.

They don't need a PRS database. They "just" need a few extra fields on the land register database. Would be a lot cheaper than setting up a new system, new staff, new website etc. Also would be easier to match...

My finance professor used to endlessly say: There is no free lunch! Labour just assume that the landlord will pay.

Great article. Well articulated."Person of the People". Not a member but I have an association with Reform. From an investor and owner perspective it's a no brainer that they would be landlord friendly. Cannot stress enough the importance of making...

I am not clear on why someone hasn't set up one privately we can subscribe to. You can ask a previous landlord for a reference, why not have a company that registers these references?

Great, will look forward to the equivalent tenants database. Half of mine scammed me previously and probably did to the landlord before and after me.

Put a price on everything then, why single out landlords. If Polanski wants to cap the price for tenants, why doesn't he become a landlord and cap his own rent? Price caps are government overreach.

"A Labour MP is calling on the government to introduce rent controls to curb welfare spending." We need MPs calling for controls to curb the amounts of legislation and taxes.

I'm going to get a tent and sleep outside Andy Burnhams house for a few months. Being homeless they will be powerless to move me because hey- being homeless is not a crime.

Reply to the comment left by Ian Cognito at 24/06/2026 - 16:47Let me get this straight, putting a tax on something will increase supply. Even if that was true, did you consider it would reduce demand? If I was thinking...

Taxed on square meters is a much fairer way. But as others have alluded to, its much more about being a cash grab. Bank robbers rob banks, because that is where the money is, and land value tax advocates go...

The Land tax is the worst of all taxes. All houses in New Zealand have a government valuation. This valuation has nothing to do with the properties real value. How can you continuously value a whole country's properties? Putting that...

The government shouldn't be putting fines on people pulling out. Just shorten the process to 20 days like other countries. What is a "legitimate reason." for pulling out. Can 2 half "legitimate reasons." count. What if there is a legitimate...
