Landlord since 1988, now with some 70 plus properties, all mortgage free. 'The Maluka' is Australian Aborigine for 'The Boss' also Spanish for 'The Wanker', take your pick, either could apply to a landlord.

Exactly that happened to me. It took two years and the best part of £20,000 to fight the case and get her evicted. And this was without a fine from the local council or rent repayment order.

“Rent repayment orders are strict liability offences. If a property was unlicensed when the law required one, the landlord is guilty regardless of whether the agent failed them or they were unaware of the requirement.” Unless you are Rachel Reeves!
