Tips for Overseas investor partnership?

Hello everyone. My name’s Riccardo and I’d love to ask a few questions and hopefully get some good guidelines! A little introduction of me (better say us)

We are 4 newbies on our early 30′ sharing the dream and goal of running our own business and become entrepreneurs on the property business. We def want to step out the “rat race” we’ve been living so far and feel finally fulfilled for being able, I’d say, to be the very owners of our own time.

We are living in Australia,Melbourne precisely, but we have different nationalities: two Italian and two Argentinean! Our focus is now to start investing in the Uk through a Limited company aiming to a BTL strategy and step by step we’re going all through the immense amount of information that is out there! Our first question would be:

1. considering our current situation (we are overseas investors) what options do we have in terms of raising finance (applying for a mortgage, any access to loans from private or public institution etc).

2.What are the requirements at minimum we must meet in order to raise finance?

3. Which kind of researching tools would you recommend us? We are open to listen for any other options that you may know.

We’d love hearing from you any suggestions and/or comments in order to start in the very best possible way this long journey! Any help would be very much appreciated!

Cheers
Riccardo&Co

Hi Riccardo, please let us know, why the UK? Are you aware of risks associated with changing tax and legislative issues impacting the housing market? Your plans may not result in the "living the dream" you have in mind!

Riccardo, as per Rob Crawford above plus we have a General Election next week and Brexit looming which gives even greater uncertainty.

@Riccardo: as others have said, the political landscape in UK is currently very uncertain. Further, the current environment for landlords and for property investment generally are tough, with diminishing financial returns and increasingly challenging legislative requirements. Even as an experienced UK based landlord, these are difficult to keep up and comply with. Many landlords have had enough and are selling up.

My personal recommendation to you, without wishing to be negative (just truthful), is to say avoid UK property investment, at least for now until things improve.
