Value of a Management Agency?
Hello and I am new to Property118 and about to be a property owner. To cut a sad story short, I’m about to inherit a small property and I’m thinking about renting out.![]()
I’ve begun doing the research and it is making my head spin. So I was considering letting an agency manage the property for me but just skimming a few forum threads, I’m a bit worried. It sounds like they’re quite a few cowboys out there.
So I was just wondering if they’re worth it?
Thanks
Elliot

Dear Elliot,
In your circumstances I would consider using a good letting agent as invaluable. There are far to many mistakes you could make for it to be worth the risk of going it alone.
The agents need to be a member of a redress scheme and carry client money protection at least.
We use, recommend and part own LettingSupermarket who only charge 4% for full management. Why would you take the risk or hassle to save 4% ????
