Hello 118ers, Some advice please. Can I apply for a Joint CCJ to recover the thousands of pounds my ex-tenants owe me for damages and rent arrears?
They are a couple and were joint tenants and both signed the tenancy agreements and the inventory list.
He has a well paid job and she looks after their baby so has little or no income. He has always made the rent payments.
Thank you,
ABW

Yes, CCJ both of them (costs you the same, 2 for 1 you might say), this will give you up to 6 years to get the money back of either of them. If he has a well paid job once you have the CCJ do an Attachment of Earnings against him. I have used this several times with some success.
