A landlord in Edinburgh is the first in the city to be banned from letting out properties after failing to declare previous convictions and to licence his HMO.

The landlord of a filthy and overcrowded shared house was fined £5,500 after admitting 23 licensing and management offences to magistrates.

Fifteen people were found living in an overcrowded and unlicensed house in multiple occupation raised by a team of police and housing officers after a tip from the UK Border Agency.

A landlord in Oxford has been fined £2,000 and over £2,000 in costs after repeatedly failing to obtain a gas safety certificate.
One of landlord William Edwards’ properties in Didcot was reported to the local Health and Safety Executive for being without the required gas certificate, and upon visiting seven months later it was found to have a broken boiler.
