Hello, A friend of mine has been renting a room in London for £1,250 a month and he has just told me it hasn’t got any windows – which I told him is illegal.
What is the best way to handle this situation as he wants to move out before the tenancy ends?
Is there any compensation/court case to be had in this situation?
Thank you,
Sam

So because of some bad landlords all of us are to be penalized with more legislation etc I’m sick to the back teeth of having to do this that and everything else we have to act as immigration officers council tax collectors and a million other things I have fire doors door closers heat detectors smoke detectors emergency lights carbon monoxide detectors gas certificates electrical certificates HMO licensing inspections Galore are rents are at least 20% below the market rate and we have tenants for over 20 years we’ve made our properties into homes not houses and yet I still see low life landlords some of them are the biggest in the South of England getting away with murder yet we are still harrassed and penalized all the time

And people wonder why landlords have had enough! Why put yourself through that, for someone else’s benefit, and still be told it’s not good enough?
