Mark Dennison starts talking about Licensing @ 1hr 12min and 30 seconds.
He then refers to Mick at 1hr 18mins 0 secs.

Mick said: “I start talking at 1hr 22mins, and finish at 1hr 32. I didn’t realise I talked for 10 mins ha ha. I thought it was only 1 min. I needed another hour.

“Please forward this to all tenants and Landlords who are unaware of the new Selective Licensing scheme coming into effect on the 1st of August. We need to get the message out.”

This is going to cost Mick £100,000!

I note the requirement for a plan of the property has now been dropped.
In the letter from the RLA (see link above), they have also challenged most of Nottingham council's unlawful conditions.
In the highly likely event of them not being allowed to impose these conditions, will there be a drop in the license fee to reflect their drop in costs?

I'm no great fan of landlord associations generally but I must congratulate the RLA on a superb letter, ripping this selective licensing nonsense to pieces. I might even renew my membership!

Summat else to cheer you up Mick, just tried remortgaging a property in Nottingham. One of the biggest lenders, 50% LTV, easily meets rental income, application refused. Mortgage broker spoke to the BDM and its "because of the area". The area is one of the better ones in Nottingham.
I'm guessing they are not lending in Nottingham at all cos of the council licensing nearly all the city.
It's sending out a clear message to landlords that comply with the law;
Keep out of Nottingham.
Incidentally, I remortgaged a worse criteria flat at a higher LTV in a different town with them no problems at all.

We desperately need a comment, preferably in writing - that a mortgage company won't lend because of Licensing.
If anyone can get that, please pass to me and my colleagues on the Property118 Anti-Licensing group.

Sorry Chris, they were very cagey about giving the reason, no chance of them putting it in writing.
They are refunding the fees though.

Yeah Nottingham Councillors gonna have a big shock next year with the amount of homeless.
As I see it, a lot of the good landlords have had enough and are selling.
They've pushed it too far after everything else and especially with Universal Credit coming in.

Can you Landlords please sign this & forward to all your contacts.
A small hope, we have to try anything & everything.
I'm sure we not get 10k signatures, but the more Licensing & Govt start to see these things, who knows.
