A leading industry body wants to hear from landlords in London about their future plans for investment.
Propertymark and the University of Dundee have launched a survey to uncover whether landlords will retain their property investments or withdraw from the sector.
The survey is open till the end of August and while the survey is mainly for landlords living in the capital, people from other parts of the country can take part too.
A statement from Propertymark and the University of Dundee says: “With recent changes, including the tenant fee ban, ‘section 24’ tax rules, minimum energy efficiency standards, higher rates on stamp duty, an eviction ban during Covid, patchy funding for energy efficiency improvements, and upcoming renters’ reform, landlords have been given many reasons to consider their continued investment in the Private Rented Sector.
“At the same time, pressure on rents has increased incomes and house price growth has driven strong capital returns.”
Propertymark head of policy and campaigns, Timothy Douglas, told Property118: “As well as existing legislative and tax changes, landlords in London face the threat of rent control which has been long called for by the current Mayor of London.
“Through our survey and research with the University of Dundee, we are hoping to gain more insight into the future plans of landlords and investors in London.
He added: “The capital has significant housing challenges and is facing huge demand from tenants for property to rent so evidence from landlords and agents will be vital in influencing policy makers and future decisions going forward.”
All respondents of the survey will be offered the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win one of five £100 Amazon vouchers.

Every day, landlords who want to influence policy and share real-world experience add their voice here. Your perspective helps keep the debate balanced.

Do it – it addresses the Qs we regularly discuss on this forum. As it says, non London LLs can participate, and I just selected the nearest London Borough to me.
Takes less than 10 mins. Who knows, if it gets some publicity, people (Govt.) might just listen. We don’t know unless we try.
