Liverpool landlord licensing farce continues for Agent
Following on from an excellent article recently regarding Liverpool City Council, I have now ( I am an Estate Agent ) have to be co regulated in order to be accepted as the Licence Holder for many of my landlords. ![]()
We are ARLA associated, SafeAgent and they want more. What’s not consistent is that I have others landlords who have not required the additional information, making LCC inconsistent again!
Has anyone else experienced this ?
Many thanks
Gio

I have also been made aware that the useless Authority are demanding Landlord details such as DOB etc from agents who are ,as the landlords may reside out of the jurisdiction and may not provide these details As an ARLA member you should protest in the strongest possible terms to ARLA as they are co regulators of a scheme which has been already been found to be in breach of the DPA and indeed still is, and is the subject of a further investigation by the ICO. This scheme in its present form is not compliant and no landlord or agent should give in to threats or bullying from Liverpool. We will not sign up to a scheme which does not comply in every respect with the law.

Good point Larry, have you ever tried to contact Landlord Licence to discuss any issues ? You
can’t !! It simply goes to reception who try and deal with it and they are not technically knowledgeable to reply, its really poor and frustrating,,,,,,

We are the same. We have had to register separately with NALS. We are members of the Law Society, UKALA, Safe Agent, Property Ombudsman, Client Money Protection, ICO, HMRC Anti Money Laundering registered, Professional Indemnified to name but a few. Where does the regulation stop?

Can you Landlords please sign this & forward to all your contacts.
A small hope, we have to try anything & everything.
I’m sure we not get 10k signatures, but the more Licensing & Govt start to see these things, who knows.
