And the landlord vote goes to – Please vote again
Editors note: The voting form has recently been set up again so you can only cast one vote. Dr Beck would be most grateful if you could vote again if you haven’t already. Many thanks.
In recent months there has been much speculation about a general election being called early. I would like to get an idea of landlords’ voting intentions – which I then aim to relay to politicians. So could you please select out of the options below?
It would also then be very helpful if you could expand on your answers below in the comments section. You don’t have to answer each of the following points – just those you want to.
For example, if you have switched allegiance or you haven’t, could you give your reasons? Could you also give your thoughts on what you think of each party and their policies and attitude towards the private rented sector? You may also vote for a party for other reasons, unrelated to your role as a landlord, so it would also be interesting if you explained that.
I would also be interested in your insights into what you think your tenants might vote, if you have any idea or just your general thoughts on how you think the Government’s and Opposition’s approach to the PRS is likely to affect tenants’ voting patterns – particularly, whether you think that the Government’s recent assault on the sector is likely to gain them the ‘tenant vote.’
This could be important in terms of advocating for our sector, so please take part.

I’m truly hoping that a new Brexit party will be started, and I will vote for them, in the hope that voters from the left and the right will come together to see it through. We can go back to conservative or labour afterwards.
Seeing the results of this poll is frightening, that so many people would vote in a Marxist party that would destroy this country is incredible. Do people not understand what Corbyns policies would do to this country? No matter how bad it is at the moment, I can’t believe so many would vote for its total destruction. Communism didn’t work in Russia, China etc. Don’t people read history any more? Rant over. Apologies if I’ve offended anyone.

In answer to the original questions, I wonder how many tenants realise exactly why their rent has gone up? And as both parties seem hell bent on trying to destroy the PRS who can we / they vote for? One thing for certain, I could never vote for Corbyn.

I wouldn’t pay attention to the poll results as they stand now. I have the figures for before persons unknown went onto it last night and around 500 votes for Labour.

OK everyone I have killed the old Poll and set up a new one that hopefully stops multiple voting by trolls.
I would be most grateful if you can cast your vote again please.

The Cons have proved to be traitors to the country and to independence and freedom. Voting confidence in Appeaser May reveals their total untrustworthiness.
Labour are pathetic, divided and most want to keep us in the EU and to hell with the future of the UK.
The only answer is to vote UKIP or for another reliably pro UK independence Party if one emerges.

I have voted again as you request.
What intrigues me is — what were the trolls doing?
How did you identify them?
What difference has that made to the voting?
How did you stop the trolls?
Why do you think trolls would bother to interfere with this relatively small poll?

The Tories have victimised the landlord community for several years, seeing us as a cow to be milked at every opportunity. But I doubt Labour sees us as a supplier of housing to often those most in need. In fact, under Corbyn things will get worse!
