How do we get EPC exemptions for listed buildings?
We own or are responsible for several rental properties which are Listed Buildings or are Flats within a Listed Building.
We have done all we can to mitigate the Energy Performance, but we have a couple that are never going to get above E because there is no gas in the building, and we cannot install Double Glazing.
We are finding it very difficult to get any information about HOW to apply for the relevant exemptions.
Has anyone on here successfully applied for an exemption? If so how?
Many thanks
Jon

Phone your Local Authority who will tell you how to apply

Forget your Local Authority. This article is worthy of a view on the subject: https://www.lettingaproperty.com/landlord/blog/epc-listed-buildings/

Here is a link to the government guidance and within there is a link to the PRS Exemption Register. In short you need to select one of the exemption categories you are claiming for and follow the process on screen. You may be required to upload relevant documents to support your claim, one of which will be a current EPC. Your exemption will last 5 years after which you will need to reapply.

Hope this helps.
