Council want to inspect my property
Just received a letter from the council saying they have been informed that the house I let out is in a state of disrepair and will need to be inspected. The tenants have just recently received an order to vacate using section 21. The tenants signed a form stating they had inspected the property and happy with its condition when they started tenancy. ![]()
Don’t quite know how to deal with this.
Any advice most welcome!

Yes, it was a snotty letter although I’ve since spoken to the inspector and he seems quite approachable. Had the house 10years and NO previous tenants have ever mentioned any problems with the property. Called round in July to inspect the property and discuss arrears and the tenants refused me access and where very abusive. The neighbours have called the police in on occasion for antisocial behaviour. To be frank, they soak up benefits – dont pay rent – have a bad attitude – out for what they can get and I b……………..h……. ………m.!!!!
