So let me get this straight, Cameron’s father avoided tax, he died, no doubt Cameron was entitled to his inheritance, did Cameron avoid inheritance tax?

Well he might have but if he was an executor, or was informed by one, of potential underpayment of income, CGT or corporation taxes that could make him an evader.

My reply to latest ludicrous missive from the Conservative Party:

”Helping you keep more of the money you earn?’

This is a sick joke from a party which has brought in infinite tax rates for ‘individual landlords’ (by, bizarrely, taxing us on finance costs which are an outgoing as though they were our profit and still in our bank account) whilst introducing no such measure for institutions or any other businesses – obviously going for an easy target and cashing in on ridiculous stereotypes of landlords. Hopefully the legal case against HMRC and the Treasury will be successful and the Conservative Party will learn that it is a disgrace to bring in outrageous tax laws which would suit Zimbabwe under Mugabe and are total anathema in the UK.’

Hi Ros – I received the same email. Here is my response:

Dear David (or should I call you bulletin),

Like most of what you and your Party say, even the email address you use to correspond with your Party ‘faithful’ is misleading. The address you choose to use – in this case purporting to be from David Cameron, is nothing but a sham. The emails I have received from ‘George Osborne’, ‘Alan Mabbutt’ and various others have not been from them either. Of course no one should be surprised because it is consistent with everything which the Conservative Party has done since the start of its General Election campaign e.g. not mentioning, in your manifesto, the planned introduction of measures which you knew would destroy Conservative voters livelihoods and pension provisions. What an incredibly cynical and dishonest move – and ultimately extremely stupid. Do you imagine in the next General Election that the people who helped elect you in the last one, and whose lives you have subsequently ruined, will vote for you next time? Or ever again, for that matter? Did you perhaps think that your policies might somehow encourage those traditional Labour voters to change their allegiance and vote Conservative in the next election? If you did, then you are more out of touch with reality than I thought. You see, not everyone is as fickle and disloyal as you and your Party.

Oh, I almost forgot to address the title of your email to me. You are responsible for reducing the amount of money left for me, after tax, by 28%. Clearly some mistake has been made, so I would very much appreciate it if you could resolve that mistake.

    Your sincerely, Chris Cooper.

I actually got a bounce message when I replied (unsurprisingly) but it did give an alternative means of contacting them:
