Most controversial: taking the opportunity of the council tax property revaluation to introduce capital gains tax on future house price rises.

I suppose this disagreement could be seen, if cynically, as a bit of a turf war over who gets to be the boss of “affordable” supply in London, but I think my sympathies lie more with Bennett than with Orr. One thing is for sure: “bonkers” is about the kindest word that can be used for perhaps the worst housing policy of all time.

So they reduce the PRS and the social housing?

Great, Kathy. Thanks for that and for all your hard work in general. I see writing to papers as a key part of our strategy. We need to discuss and clarify things here and share information – but the most important thing is getting the message out to MPs and the press.
If others can also send the letter or a revised version out to more journalists that would be great.

I am seeing my MP Monday and we have a very significant amount of housing stock in our area she will definitely take notice as we get over 10 people going for every house and it’s already harder for locals to get quality housing due to the ludicrous universal credit and massive influx of Eastern Europeans who in my opinion are safer bets as tenants as the work hard and look after the properties I am going to let loose when I see her as they haven’t got a clue what this tax grab is going to do

    Hi Steve

    Best of luck!

Is u credit fully implemented where you are? its not fully in my area yet but I am dreading it. Housing needs and anyone apart from the government see massive problems with it.

No computers or cant use computers .
Phone lines jammed or cant afford to phone
No money for weeks for anything

I believe Ian Duncan Smith should be hung and quartered, did you see him jumping up and down when the cuts were announced.?

This woman was on the MPC??? really???

Seems from the photo she could fit a few lodgers in her office.. I wonder how many spare bedrooms she has at her house (houses)? I’ll be her lodger!

I think that £7.5k would not make anyone take a lodger / share their home. If disposed to take a lodger then you already have done so and are not declaring it at all.

If you are serious on house price control have a 95% CGT on all housing … think about that for a while…

WOW can’t believe I just read that …

I did I’d like 10 mins in a room with him. All new claimants are now on it and it’s a farce arrears are through the roof so much so that we aren’t taking anyone on it and renting to Eastern Europeans who are superb tenants every last one I’ve had anyway.

If they fall in two months arrears you have to apply to department of work and pensions to split universal credit so you get the housing part and that takes another two months so total four months to get your money total joke and it’s ultimately the tenants that suffer due to this ideological policy. I feel let down and basically betrayed by this country as they are attcaking my business from every angle
